The wrong people
Melissa's POV
I walked ahead of the group, again tuning out the world. I could tell everyone kept looking at me, it was obvious. Wondering why I was so distant. They're so clueless. I was almost...never mind.
"Melissa?" I heard Michone walk up to me. I continued to stare ahead of me, not answering.
"Look," she stopped me. I continued to stare into space. "You're safe now. Nothing is gonna happen to you. Not with your dad around, not with rick around, not with us around. We won't let anything happen to you, I promise." She softly said. I sighed and looked at her, breaking out of my trance. I looked at rick, them my dad, not wanting to look at Carl. I broke down into tears and hugged Michone.
"I thought we were done. I thought you would all be dead. I thought we were done being scared... But we're not." I sobbed.
Carls POV
Hearing her cry made my heart sink. I wanted to run up to her and hug her forever.
But I can't.
She hates me.
She doesn't love me anymore. And it's all my fault. I wiped my eyes, making sure I wasn't crying, and cleared my throat.
"We should keep going." I said. Everyone nodded.
We continued to walk, when we saw a sign. We walked up to it and it read:
Terminus.
Sanctuary for all,
Community for all.
Those who arrive,
Survive.
"We have to go." Michone said. My dad nodded.
"Let's go." He said. I looked at Melissa and saw a hint of fear in her eyes. She was still shaking from what happened a couple hours ago.
I looked at Daryl, and he was looking at Melissa too. He looked concerned, worried, even.
I looked at my dad. He looked at everyone. Melissa, me, Michone, Daryl...
Michone had an arm around around Melissa's shoulders. She seemed like a good mother, better than Melissa's own mother.
I snapped out of my thoughts when we approached a big building. In big black letters, it read 'T-E-R-M-I-N-U-S'.
My dad buried a bag of weapons in the ground as we hopped the fence.
Melissa's POV.
I was hesitant about hopping the fence, worried about what's behind them. About what we are about to face.
I jumped the fence and stayed close to my dad.
We snuck in the back, walking into a big room. People were all working. Some making signs like the one we read earlier, a woman was broadcasting something, saying "terminus. Sanctuary for all, community for all. Those who arrive, survive."
A man holding a clipboard was the first to notice our presence. He walked up to us with a smile on his face.
"I see you've came through the back. Smart. We could use people like you here. We came here for sanctuary, that what you came here for?" He asked. We nodded.
"Great. I'm garret. Before we show you around, we would ask if you could drop your weapons. I'm sure you understand." He said. I looked at rick and he nodded, putting his gun down. I put my crossbow down, I kept an extra knife in my boot just incase.
Men came up and patted us all down, searching for weapons. My dad eyes the man carefully as he walked up to me. I flinched when he reached my arms, hoping he wouldn't notice my cuts. To my luck, he didn't. Phew.
The men backed away. "You can pick up your weapons now. Now, we usually do this at the front but... Welcome to terminus! Alex, come with me to show them around." Garret said. A man, who only looked about in his twenties, walked up beside garret. They took us outside and to a woman with red hair, pulled into a messy side braid, cooking meat on a barbecue.
I looked around, seeing a man wearing my dad's poncho, that Maggie was wearing a couple times. I saw Alex with Hershel's pocket watch, that he gave to Glenn, in his pocket. I saw a man wearing riot gear from the prison.
I was handed a plate of meat. I looked around and saw a pile of bones.
Human bones.
I wasn't in any way hungry, and I was defiantly not gonna eat human meat, so I threw my plate on the ground. Rick knocked carls plate out of his hand and dropped his own, Michone and dad doing the same.
These people are cannibals, aren't they?
I looked at rick and motioned towards the people wearing our peoples stuff. He nodded and walked up to Alex, putting him in a head lock with a gun pointed to him temple.
"Where'd you get the watch? WHERE DID YOU GET THE WATCH?!" Rick yelled. I heard the sounds of guns being taken out. I looked around and saw that we were surrounded by guns.
"Guys! C'mon!" I yelled as we began to run. They were shooting at our feet, purposely missing.
"Are they trying to lead us somewhere?!" Carl asked.
"What do you think, idiot?!" I snapped.
We ran into a room. It was round, and candles were everywhere. There was writing on the ground. Names. There was also writing on the walls, but I never had time to read what it said because we heard a door lock.
"Where do we go?!" Michone asked. My dad pointed out another door, and we ran.
We were lead to a clearing, train carts were around us. People were pointing guns at is from every angle.
Out of habit, I walked closer to Carl. He looked at me as if I was crazy. I moved away.
"Sorry." I mumbled, looking at the ground. He walked up to me and held my hand.
"I love you." Carl whispered.
"I love you too, Carl." I whispered back.
"Now, do as I say and the girl doesn't die." Garret yelled. My breathing hitched.
"Dixons don't cry. Dixons don't cry..." I kept mumbling to myself.
"Ringleader, step up to the train cart." He said. I squeezed carls hand.
"It'll be okay... It's be okay..." I said to mostly myself.
"Archer, go." He said. My head snapped over to my dad as tears began to come to my eyes. He looked at me.
"I love-" I started.
"Now!" Garret interrupted.
"Now the samurai." He said. Michone walked over to the train cart.
"My son!" Rick yelled.
"My daughter!" Dad yelled.
"Kid, go." He said, pointing to Carl. I squeezed his hand.
"No... Please don't leave me... Please..." I begged. He stopped and walked over to me.
"Kid, now! Don't make us kill her now." Garret threatened.
"I love you. See you soon." Carl said. He kissed me before hesitantly walking to the train cart, looking back at me every so often.
"Now, step into the train cart. Ringleader, archer, samurai, kid. In that order." Garret said.
"I'm not leaving without my daughter!" Dad protested. Garret sighed.
"Girl, go." He said. I smiled and walked into the train cart. "We'll be back for you later." He said. I started to shake as I quickly closed the train cart door.
I ran up to Carl and hugged him while I cried.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." I mumbled into his chest. He shushed me and rubbed my back.
"Thought I was gonna have to argue a little more than I did." Dad said. I slightly chuckled and hugged him.
"We need to get out of here," rick said.
"Yea, but h-" I was cut off my a familiar voice.
"Rick?" We saw Glenn, Maggie, Sasha, bob, and four other new people emerge from the other side of the cart.
"Glenn? Maggie?" I cried as I run up to them and hugged them.
"Who's..." My dad asked, gesturing towards the four new people.
"They're our friends. They helped us." Glenn said.
"That's great but, what's their names?" I asked sarcastically.
"Oh, that's Tara," Glenn pointed to a girl with short, brownish-black hair that was in a ponytail.
"That's rosita," he pointed to a girl with her hair in two ponytails and she was wearing a belly top and short-shorts.
"That's Abraham," he pointed to a tall, buff man with orange hair and an orange moustache.
"And that's Eugene. He's a scientist. He knows how to cure this." Glenn said, pointing to a man with a black mullet,
I nodded. "What's the cure? How are you gonna cure this?" I asked Eugene. He looked at me and shrugged.
"It's classified." He said. I raised an eyebrow and nodded, walking back to Carl.
"Well I'll tell you what I know." Rick said, looking out through a crack in the wood. We all looked at him, waiting for him to continue.
"They're gonna feel pretty stupid when they find out." He started.
"Find out what?" Glenn hesitantly asked, confused.
"That they're fucking with the wrong people."
