Him

Hella time skips here k bye

---

"Someone's here." Carl smiled. I stood up and stretched. Carl passed me my boots and sat down on the bed. I smiled and put them on, walking out of the cell holding carls hand.

Everyone was talking, some yelling, some laughing, some arguing, some weren't even paying attention to whoever was here.

Everyone stopped talking once they realized I was there. Confused, I looked at Carl, then back at the crowd of people who were now stepping out of the way. I got a clear view of who was there. I let go of carls hand and stopped dead in my tracks.

"Melissa..." Uncle Merle said. I looked beside him and saw my dad. I ran up to uncle Merle and hugged him.

"I-I..."

"I missed ya too, Mel" he said.

"Melissa?" My dad called out. I took a breath and let go of Merle. I looked at my dad, emotionless.

"Yes?" I asked, annoyed.

"Melissa, I'm sor-"

"No." I stopped him. "No you're not 'sorry'... Dad, you left me! You get mad and yell at me then you leave me! You missed my birthday! I was right, you don't care about me!" I snapped.

"Melissa, you don't understa-"

"I understand fine." I said. He looked hurt. I sighed and looked at the ground. "Do you realize what you've done to me?" I asked, my voice was softer now. "You hurt me... Abandoned me..."

"Dammit, Melissa! You had everyone here with you, it's not like I left you for dead!"

"Yea but you wouldn't have known if I did die..." I mumbled.

"I came back!"

I scoffed. "Yea because guilt took over you! Admit it, you wouldn't have came back if it wasn't for the guilt! You didn't even think about what you did to me, dad!" I began to cry, much to my surprise.

"I did think about you, Melissa... I did, I- I really couldn't loose my brother again... I knew it was wrong to leave you but I..." He trailed off. My anger went away. I ran up to him and hugged him.

"I didn't know if you were coming back..." I croaked.

"You'll never get rid of me..."

"Hey, Carl." I smiled. He wrapped an arm around my shoulder.

"Hey, angel." He smirked.

"Still calling me angel, Huh?" I smiled.

"Never gonna stop." He grinned. I rolled my eyes as we began walking around the parts of the prison that were safe from the sickness that was going around.

We were walking for a little longer until we ran into Kayla. Rick let her out of her cell, and she's not threatening to kill anyone anymore.

"Hey, Kay." I smiled. She kept looking at the ground.

"Kayla?" I asked, walking closer to her. She pushed me away.

"What's wrong?" I asked, slowly stepping closer to her.

"Stay away... Please!" She whispered. I lifted her chin up a little and put my hands on her shoulders.

"Kayla. What's wrong?" I asked. She looked up. She had dark circles under her eyes, she was pale, sweating, shivering, and she had blood around her mouth.

"I have it..." She whispered.

"N-no..." I gulped. "No-not you..." She nodded.

"Let's...um...let's get you to cell block D..." Carl said. She nodded as we brought her to block D.

"Carl, this thing is getting worse... What are we gonna do?" I sighed and put my head on his shoulder.

"Your dad, Merle, my dad, tyreese, and a few others are out getting medicine. They should be back by tomorrow hopefully." Carl sighed. I shut my eyes.

"A day. A damn day! They're still not back! More people are dying as we speak in that cell block and even more are getting sick! Damn kids are dying in there!" I said to the council. Sometimes they let me join because they trust me and also because I invite myself in, but they don't seem to mind. Especially now.

The council is small. It's usually rick, dad, Glenn, Hershel, Michone, carol, Maggie, sometimes me, and a few others. Today, it's only me, carol, Maggie, Michone and only about two others.

"We know that, but there's nothing we can do, Melissa. We've gotta wait for them to come back because there's nothing we can do." Carol argued. I sighed and slumped back down into a chair.

"Hershel and doctor.S are in there, they're helping all they can." One of the Woodbury people added, I honestly don't know most of their names.

"Dr.S is sick and Hershel is exposed." I argued back. "Am I the only one here who isn't living in a fantasy land where someone comes in and saves the day and where everyone survives this?! People are dying. Our group is probably getting smaller as we speak! Am I the only one getting this?!" I calmed down a bit.

"She's right, guys. But what should we do?" Maggie asked.

"She and Michone could come with me and Carl to pick berries for the tea for the sick." Hershel walked in with a bandana over his mouth, Carl walking behind him. I sighed and nodded.

"Okay. Let's go then..." I said as I stood up. Michone and I walked outside into the forest with Hershel and Carl.

"What if I get it... What-what if my dad's in trouble or.... What if I never see my dad again?" I asked Carl, worried about my dad. He shook his head.

"You will see your dad again. Don't worry about it." He smiled. I took a shaky breath and nodded.

"I'm just worried about him... And Merle... Everyone, really. I just got my dad and Merle back... I don't want to loose either of them again..." I looked at him, still picking berries for Hershel.

"And you won't." He smiled. I nodded and smiled. I hugged him and stopped letting tears fall from my eyes.

"Okay. We've better get back." Hershel said. I turned around and saw Hershel and Michone smiling at us. I blushed and nodded, standing up.

"Let's go." I smiled. We began walking, when I heard Michone gasp and chuckle. I turned around and saw that she dropped all of her berries. I chuckled.

"You two go on, I'll stay and help Michone." Hershel smiled. I chuckled again.

"Okay." I smiled, as me and Carl began walking back to the prison.

A few minutes later, we got to the prison.

"Umm.. Shouldn't they be back by now?" I asked.

"I don't know..." Carl stopped, looking back to the woods.

"You go inside, I'll go find them..." I said. Carl nodded. He took my hand and kissed my lips.

"Be careful." He smiled and walked inside.

"Dammit, grimes." I chuckled. I began to walk towards the gates, when a car sped up. A man got out and put a bag over my head. I screamed, kicking and thrashing, trying to get out of the mans grip.

I was shoved into the car and my hands were tied behind my back.

The man took the bag off of my head. My heart was beating fast. I had my glare fixed on the man in front of me.

The governor.

"What the hell..?" I whispered. I heard breathing next to me. I turned my head and saw Michone and Hershel looking at me.

"Welcome to the club." She mumbled, certainly not amused with Philip. I rolled my eyes.

We arrived to wherever his camp was. Were all inside of a trailer, sitting on the couch with our hands still tied up.

"What do you want?" I spat, my Georgian accent coming through.

"The prison. After you and your group ruined my home, I found a group. There's people I need to protect and the prison provides just what I need."

"And?" I clenched my jaw.

"You're our key for just that. Rick and your dad and the rest of the group are probably there right now, not even noticing you're gone..." He smirked.

"So what you're just gonna kill us?" Michone chimed in.

"If I need to, then yes." I narrowed my eyes. I looked at Hershel, hes a good man, he doesn't deserve this. I looked at Michone, she has become an essential part of this group. Me? I'm just Melissa Dixon. Nothing special about me. If I can figure out a way where they escape, even if it means sacrificing myself, I'm all for it as long as they're safe. Nobody will miss me when I'm gone.

"I'm gonna kill you." Michone snarled.

"No you're not." Philip smirked. I rolled my eyes.

"I'm gonna-"

"Michone..." Hershel whispered. Michone stopped talking. I looked at Hershel, my eyes full of fear. Hershel looked at Philip, who was walking out of the trailer, then back to me.

"You're gonna be fine. You're gonna see your dad again, youre gonna see Merle again... You- you're gonna see Judy again, you're gonna see Carl again, Kayla... You're gonna get out of here." Hershel smiled.

"And you're gonna see Maggie again. Beth... You're gonna see them again. You're gonna see everyone again! I'm gonna get you guys out of here, even if it means-"

"Come on. We're getting the prison." Philip walked in. His men put bags over our heads.

Carls POV

"Was that a scream?" Carol rushed up to me. I looked back at the door.

"I don't know..." I said.

"Where's Melissa, Hershel and Michone?" She asked, opening the door.

"They're in the woods... Just getting berries." I said. She nodded. The group bringing back medicine walked through the door.

"Dad! Was Melissa, Hershel and Michone outside when you got here?!" I asked. Dad, confused, shook his head. I sighed.

"Carl, maybe they're just farther into the woods to get more berries for the tea. Don't worry." Carol said. I nodded.

"Right." I sighed beginning to walk to my cell.

+++

"Carl. Carl, wake up."

"Melissa?"

"No...it's Kayla, and before you say anything, I'm over the sickness. Anyways... Melissa still isn't back yet. Your dad told me to wake you. He needs to talk to you." She said, standing up and walking out of the cell. I sighed and sat up. I walked out of my cell to my dad.

"They're still not back yet?" I asked. My dad sighed and shook his head. I sighed.

"Were gonna go look for them... See if they're..." My dad sighed and looked around the room. "We should be back by-" we were interrupted by a loud bang, shaking the walls of the prison. I looked at my dad, then we ran out, meeting the rest of the group.

I looked past the gates and saw him.

The governor.
