Talk to me
"We need food for little ass kicker. Me and Maggie will go, you guys stay here, especially you, rick." Glenn walked up to the group, who was all eating breakfast, while I was just sitting against the wall, not even the slightest bit hungry. It's been three days since Lori died... Most people are getting better, me for one, is not. I honestly miss Lori A LOT. Carl isn't the same. He's been avoiding me and having bad mood swings. He actually started getting mad at me yesterday for asking how he was doing, so I've been avoiding him as much as possible since then.
"Take the SUV, see if you can find any gas while you're at it, too." Dad said. Maggie and Glenn nodded and headed out of the prison.
I felt a soft hand slightly rest on my shoulder. "You need to eat, Hun." Carol quietly said. I shook my head. She sighed and put the bowl back onto the table.
"C'mon, Hun... " she helped me stand up and held onto my shoulders. "You haven't eaten in three days. Even Carl and rick are eating now-"
"I don't care what Carl and rick are doing, carol. Sorry, but I could care less about them right now. Just... Let me grieve... Alone." I sighed and walked into my cell alone.
"Melissa?"
"Alone." I sighed. "Let me be alone." I told whoever was walking into my cell.
"Melissa, I'm sorry for yesterday... I shouldn't have yelled at you or even gotten mad at you..." He sighed. I looked at carl and smiled.
"Whatever" I rolled my eyes and chuckled. He walked over to me and hugged me.
"Your mom is in a better place, you know that. Even if you don't wanna think that heaven is real, just think, she doesn't have to run anymore. She doesn't have to be afraid anymore. She doesn't have to worry anymore. She's at peace now. Don't believe it if you don't want to but-" I was interrupted by a pair of lips connecting to mine.
"What what that for?" I smiled. Carl shrugged.
"Didn't know how to tell you to shut up without sounding rude." He smirked. I playfully punched his shoulder.
"Watch it, grimes." I laughed.
------
"It's been hours... They should be back now!" Beth exclaimed. I walked in front of her and held her arms so she would stop pacing back and forth.
"Beth, they'll be fine. Maggie is with Glenn, he won't let anything happen to her. He'd die before he lets anything or anyone hurt her."
"That's what I'm worried about! What if they're both dead?!"
"Rick... Someone's here!" Dad ran into the prison. We all ran outside and saw a woman standing outside of the gates, holding a red basket, and putting a hand over her thigh.
"Let her in!" I yelled, running to open the gates. We let the woman in.
"Hershel, take her inside and help her with her leg. I need to talk to her after." Rick said. Hershel nodded and walked with carol and Beth into the prison.
----
"Where did you get this basket?"
"Two people- a man, Chinese I think, and a woman- we're taken. The governor, you know him?" The woman, who we now know her name is michone, said. We all shook our heads.
"Well, the man took them. He lives in a community he created. It's called Woodbury. He probably took them there. You need to save them fast. He's horrible. You won't believe the things he's done to people."
"How do you know?" I asked.
"I was there. I lived there with my friend, Andrea-"
"Wait, Andrea?!" I asked. Michone nodded. "She was at the CDC with us, wasn't she? Yea, she got split up with us after the farm!" I smiled. "She also shot my dad in the head, but..." I bit the inside of my cheek and smiled.
"Anyways, i saw them being taken. They were kidnapped by a guy names Merle-"
"MERLE?!" Me and my dad both stood up at the same time.
"Merle Dixon." She nodded.
"Dad, they have uncle Merle!" I shouted with a huge smile.
"C'mon, we gotta go get Maggie, Glenn, Merle, and Andrea." Rick said.
"Andrea won't leave.trust me." Michone sighed. We nodded.
--------
Rick, Michone, Oscar( a former prisoner that joined our group), dad, and me (because of a lot of begging).
"Let's go, everyone." Rick said, as he got in the car with Michone, dad and oscar. I walked over to Carl and hugged him.
"I hate you for going" he chuckled. "Don't get hurt, I swear." He smiled.
"I won't, don't worry. I'll be back by either tomorrow or the next day." I smiled.
I got in the car and we drove to 'Woodbury'.
"We should get out here, walk the rest of the way and sneak in. Philip- The governor- well... He doesn't exactly like visitors."
"Anything else we should know?" Rick asked Michone, stopping the car and grabbing his weapons, the rest of us mirroring his actions.
"Well... They have lots if security. I'd say we're outnumbered by a good 40 people."
"But were more experienced with weapons, right?" I asked, hoping out of the car.
"Sure, you can say that." She sighed. I rolled my eyes and sighed.
"Let's just... Go... Save Maggie and Glenn, get Andrea and find uncle Merle." I waved my hand around for emphasis and shut my eyes.
------------
We snuck into Woodbury. We split into groups, me and Oscar were put on the task of taking out the governors men if they tried to attack us, while rick, Michone and dad were focusing on finding and killing the governor and getting Maggie and Glenn back. Once we, hopefully, get Glenn and Maggie back, we meet up and find uncle Merle and Andrea. We try to do this fast and get out of here with everyone alive.
"You think they're okay?" I asked oscar while we snuck around Woodbury, silently killing anyone who noticed us.
"They should be just fine. They all seem tough enough." He whispered. I nodded.
"We got 'em, c'mon." My dad said through my walked talkie.
"Got it." I replied. Me and Oscar ran towards the direction of our meeting place.
I saw the group at the meeting place. We began to run a little caster, when I heard a gunshot go off. I looked beside me and saw oscar with a bullet through his chest.
Before I processed what just happened, a sharp pain ran through my whole body. I looked down and saw blood seeping through my shirt. I lifted my shirt up a bit and saw a bullet hole in my stomach. I fell to the ground in pain and shock.
I heard yelling and another bullet went off. I saw the man who shot my fall to the ground with blood running down his face.
My dad ran up to me and fell to his knees beside me. "Melissa! Please, talk to me! Please!"
"Daryl, pick her up and let's get out of here, we need to get her to Hershel without anyone else dying." Rick informed my dad. My eyelids began to feel heavy and breathing became difficult. My dad picked me up and began to run to the car.
"I...I hope t-that... That bitch s-suffered." I whispered and weakly smiled before I shut my eyes and fell into my dad's arms.
Daryl's POV (oooooooooh new POV😉😏)
"Melissa?" I whispered. "Shit!"
"She out?" Glenn asked.
"Yea," I answered with worry in my voice.
I looked beside me and saw something almost as disturbing as my daughter being shot...
Walker-merle. I stopped walking, forgetting everything that's going on at the moment, and stared at my former brother. The man I spent all my time with as a kid. The man who hid with me from our abusive parents. My brother.
"Daryl! We're here! Come on!" Maggie yelled. I ignored her, letting the tears that were forming in my eyes run down my face. All the yelling caught his attention. Walker-Merle looked up from his 'meal' and stood up, staggering towards me and Melissa.
"Fuck!" Rick yelled, firing a bullet into the walkers brain. I snapped back to reality and jumped into the car.
--------------
"I'm sorry about Merle... Andrea never made it out either..." Michone broke the silence. I nodded, not looking up from my daughters pale face.
"Daryl, we put pressure on her wound, her bleeding should be under control until we get back to the prison, which should only take a couple more minutes, then my dad can work his magic and she'll be fine." Maggie sighed.
Rick stopped the car. "Actually, we're here. I don't know how they're gonna take the news that Oscar is dead, Merle is dead, Melissa was shot and the governor is still alive..."
