Dont tell anyone

"Sophia, don't tell anyone that were goin' in the barn." I whispered as me and Carl snuck to the back of the barn.

"Damn."

"What?"

"Locked." I whispered. Carl sighed. I grabbed my crossbow that I always carry around and busted the old padlock and we slowly opened the door.

"Hello? I-is anyone there?" Randall said. Me and Carl stood in front of him.

"What do you want and why are you here?" I asked.

"Wh-what?" I grunted and rolled my eyes, knowing I wouldn't get an answer.

"You're the archer's daughter, aren't you. The one who carried the crossbow? He seems like a nice person, except for when he's angry, then he's a-" I heard the doors of the barn open.

Me and Carl jumped when we saw our dad's and the group standing at the barn doors.

"What the hell are you two doin' in here?!" My dad walked up to me quickly. He grabbed my arm and I flinched and closed my eyes. He remembered that that's how my mom used to grab me and let go.

"You tryin' ta get yourselves killed?!"

"I-I..." Carl started.

"It's my fault. I told him to. Don't punish Carl. It was me. I'm sorry I could of gotten Carl killed, Rick." I sighed. Rick nodded.

"Carl, get In the house." Rick said. He sighed and walked away.

"You can't keep babying me, dad! I had my crossbow incase anything went wrong! Im fourteen, I don't need you yelling at me whenever I do something wrong! Damn y'all." I got out of my fathers grip and ran after Carl. I heard my dad curse under his breath.

Daryl's POV

I walked past the barn. I heard Randall, Carl and Melissa talking. I got Rick and we ran to the barn.

I barged into the barn. I grabbed her arm and she flinched.

Flashback

I opened the front door just as Melissa was being slapped by her mother, Sara.

Sara grabbed a hold of Melissa and tugged on her arm, bringing her closer to her. Melissa was crying, but didn't say anything.

"Let her go, Sara!" I took Melissa away from Sara and stood in front of her. Melissa was sobbing and has her eyes squeezed shut.

"Get outta here! Don't ever touch my daughter again! You got that?!" I yelled.

"Melissa, go on upstairs sweetie." I turned around and was facing her. She nodded and ran upstairs.

"This is the last time I'm gon' ever see you even touch Melissa again!" She smirked.

"Just... Get out! I can't have you hurting Melissa anymore! I'm done! Just get outta here!"

"You piece of shit!" She threw her wedding ring on the floor and left the house. I picked up the ring and chucked it at the wall.

Melissa slowly walked towards me. "I-is she g-gone daddy?" I nodded and she ran up to me and hugged me.

"Daryl?" I was snapped out of my thoughts from Glenn

"What?"

"You wanna go see your daughter or..." I scoffed at him and walked to the house.

"Hey dad... I'm sorry for yelling at you... I just... I don't know why I did it... I didn't mean it." She walked towards me.

"Me too. I shouldn't have yelled at you like that... Or grabbed you like that." She smiled

"It's fine, dad." She rolled her eyes and hugged me. We broke our hug and walked back outside.

Melissa's POV

"Where's Carl, Lori?"

"Ricks inside talking to him, give them some space, Hun." She smiled I nodded. I looked around and saw Sophia. I walked over to her.

"Hey soph." I sat down beside her. He smiled and stared at the doll in her hands.

"Hey"

"Were going for shooting lessons later, you wanna come?" I asked. she looked up from her doll and nodded. I smiled.

"Sure. I have to ask my mom, though." She smiled. I nodded and we both stood up and walked in different directions.

"Glenn, have you seen my dad anywhere?" I asked. He shook his head.

"Not after the barn." I sighed and walked into the house.

Man, there's nothing to do.

"Hey, Melissa" Carl sat down beside me.

"Hey." I simply said.

"Why'd you take all the blame? I mean,I did it too..."

"Because I'm used to being yelled at... I didn't care about getting yelled at by my dad, he can't stay mad at me for to long." I shrugged.

"Walker outside." Carl sighed. I looked out the window.

"That's dad..." I whispered. I ran outside I to the field. Andrea had her gun pointed at dad.

"DONT SHOOT!" We all kept yelling. We ran to my dad. He had ears around his neck, he was covered in blood and he was limping. It actually scared me a little.

"What happened?!" I asked.

"Fell down a damn cliff-" he fell to the ground with a bullet hitting his head.

"NO!" I yelled. I looked back at Andrea, who was smiling at her victory. I ran over to my dad and helped Rick carry him back to the house.

"Andrea that wasn't a walker!" I yelled angrily, though tears were streaming down my face. "You just shot my dad in the head!"

"I-I didn't know-"

"We told you not to shoot! Why'd you shoot?!" I cried. When she didn't answer I but my lip and walked inside of the house.

"I-is he still alive?! Is my dad still alive?!" I nervously asked Beth. She nodded. I let out a sigh of relief.

"He fell down a damn cliff. He was limping, he was covered in blood... I-I-" I stopped talking when Beth pulled me into a hug.

"It's okay. My daddy's gonna help him. Don't worry." She looked at me. I smiled and nodded.

I wiped away my tears. "Y-yea. You're r-right." I chuckled. I thanked her and walked I to the room that dad was in.

I slightly opened the door, peeking through before knocking.

"You can come in" Hershel said. I walked in and saw my dad lying on the bed, unconscious.

"The bullet just skimmed his head."

"Then Whys he unconscious?"

"Well, when he fell down the cliff, an arrow or something must've stabbed him. He seemed to pull the arrow out himself, and climbed back up the cliff. I'd say blood loss is the main reason." I nodded.

"Is he gonna be okay?"

"I think so, just need to close the wound, but he still lost a lot of blood. He needs a transfusion, but I don't know his blood type."

"B+... Same as me..." I sighed. "Take it from me"

"I can't do that-"

"Hershel." I sighed. He nodded, obviously not wanting to argue. He got everything ready.

"This may hurt a bit" he said. I didn't even flinch. I was too busy focusing on my dad.

"Okay, were all done. Go get something to eat." He said. I nodded and stood up.

"How's your dad doing?" Andrea stopped me. I glared at her.

"Just fine, no thanks to you" I shoved past her and walked into the kitchen.

"Melissa, I thought he was a walker-"

"We told ya not to shoot" I reminded her. I asked Maggie if she could make me a sandwhich as Andrea and I kept arguing.

"Melissa, If he's gonna be alright then why are you so angry?!"

"Because he may not have been. It's a good thing you're a terrible shot" I looked behind Andrea and saw Glenn trying not to break into laughter.

I walked back into the living room and sat down with everyone else. They were having a meeting about what they were gonna do with Randall.

"I say just kill 'im. He can't hurt us that way." I said. People looked shocked.

"Melissa, where's your dad?" Carol asked, implying for me to go get him.

"Oh, you don't know?" I smiled. "Andrea here, shot the man in the head." I pointed to Andrea. I stood up and walked outside.

"Mel, can you come here for a sec!" Beth called from inside. I sighed and stood up and walked back inside.

"Y'know it was an accident" she whispered.

"We told her not to shoot."

"Maybe she didn't hear"

"We all told her not to shoot, I was right beside her when I said not to shoot." She but her lip as she was thinking.

"Oh. Sorry. He's gonna be alright, though." She reassured me. I nodded and walked upstairs into my dad's room.

Andrea walked in the room. I sat down on a chair beside the bed and glared at her.

"Hey" she whispered. I looked at her, then back at my dad.

"Hi"

"How is he?"

"What do you think? He fell down a cliff, got stabbed by a arrow, had to climb back up the cliff, and got shot in the head all in less than an hour." I said. She sighed.

"He's tough. He's gonna be okay. I'm sorry, Melissa." I nodded. She slightly smiled. She smiled and sighed. She walked out of the room. I sighed and walked out of the room.
