The Knock
Taylor heard the light knocking on her door and she froze. She knew this was coming. She just wasn't ready for it yet.
~Flashback~
"Just c'mere." Taylor slurred, reaching her arms out towards her best friend.
"Taylor you need to go to bed." Karlie said, walking over to a very drunk Taylor.
Karlie started to help Taylor up, but the blonde girl tripped over her own feet and in the process, knocked Karlie over. Taylor, now on top of Karlie, started laughing hysterically.
"Tay. Tay. Get off of me." Karlie laughed, pushing the older girl.
Taylor however, seemed to have her own plans, and in all her drunken brilliance, kissed Karlie. Not on the cheek or on the nose, on the lips. Not lightly so it could be mistaken for a friendly peck or an accident. It was intense and purposeful and definitely not friendly. And for a second, Karlie kissed her back.
"Oh um I need to go." Karlie said, quickly getting out from under Taylor and heading for the door.
Taylor was drunk, like very drunk, but she wasn't drunk enough that she could pretend that didn't just happen.
There was a second knock, louder this time, that pulled Taylor out of her memory. She quickly pulled herself together and answered the door.
"H-hey Karlie." Taylor stuttered when she opened the door.
"Hey Taylor. I uh I think we need to talk." Karlie said, a look of concern on her face.
"I know I know, I'm so sorry about last night I was drunk and I mean very drunk. I would never put you in a position like that on purpose I shouldn't have done that," Taylor said, talking in one long sentence because of her nerves, "I just I got caught up in the moment and I felt needy and clingy and I was on top of you and we were laughing and you were just looking at me and your eyes look really nice when it's dark and I was too drunk to be trusted on top of anybody with really pretty eyes. I'm just I'm really sorry I won't let it happen again I shouldn't be getting that drunk anyway, it can't be healthy I mean I was wasted," Taylor continued on, despite Karlie's attempts to say something, "I couldn't even walk straight and you were being nice and helpful and you're always so nice and I was just it felt so right so I went for it and I know I scared you because you left and you usually spend the night when I'm that drunk so I'm really sorry I'm sure you just came here to tell me you can't take care of me so much when I'm drunk like that and I totally get it I'm reall-"
Karlie suddenly cut Taylor off,
"Taylor Alison Swift if you don't stop talking and kiss me right now I will leave and come back when you're done."
And, after a moment's silence and confusion, she did just that.
