Goodnight
Karlie was sitting watching tv at 2 am when suddenly her phone went off. Taylor: "Hey Kar <3 I know it's late and you probably won't respond but you wanna come over?"
Karlie: "Hey Tay <3 Why are you still up?"
Karlie rolled Taylor's questioned around in her head, could she trust herself alone with Taylor so late?
T: "I could ask the same of you. You should come over I'm lonely."
Oh no, Taylor was feeling needy. She got like this every once in awhile, she just wanted a friend to hang out with. Karlie knew she should go over but Taylor had a tendency to be even more of a hugger than usual when she felt needy.
K: "Okay, I'll be there in twenty minutes."
Karlie knew she wasn't going to pass up a chance to hang out with Taylor, even if she had to hide how in love with her she was.
T: "YAY! See you then 😘"
Karlie smiled as she stood up to get dressed. She threw on something really casual, knowing tonight would likely consist of midnight baking and Grey's Anatomy or movies.
Twenty minutes later she arrived, as promised, at Taylor's doorstep.
"Karlie! You're here!" Taylor pulled Karlie into a tight hug, holding on longer than necessary, and Karlie couldn't decide if it was the best or worst thing. She loved Taylor's hugs, but they made her want to do much more than hug.
"Yes I am. Why is my Tay Tay up at two am texting me?" Karlie asked, sounding almost like a concerned mother.
"Because I missed you and because I couldn't sleep." The older girl smiled at Karlie.
"Well I'm here now, what are we going to do in the middle of the night?" Karlie asked, distracting herself from Taylor's beautiful smile.
"I was thinking we could watch Love Actually." Taylor suggested, looking at Karlie with puppy dog eyes.
"Alright, we can watch it again, I'll get snacks." Karlie laughed at the singer's ability to watch the same movie so many times.
"Yay! I'll put it in." Taylor skipped into the living room to start the movie.
As Karlie got the snacks she prepared herself for two hours pressed against Taylor watching a romantic comedy. She knew Taylor was a cuddler and they would be snuggled close the whole time, most likely until Taylor fell asleep on the model. She walked out into the living room and sat down, which led to Taylor cuddling against her almost instantly, her head on Karlie's chest and her whole body pressed against the taller girl.
"Thanks or coming Kar." Taylor smiled at the her, and Karlie saw love in Taylor's eyes, and she only wished it was the same love she felt.
"You're welcome Tay, that's what I'm here for, your needy moods." Karlie smiled down at Taylor, much more than friendship lighting her eyes up.
The girls sat in silence for most of the movie until about 3/4 of the way through it, in a sleepy voice Taylor broke the silence,
"You see the way they look at each other?" She asked, referring to the couple on the screen, "She looks at him like he's the sun and everything good in the universe comes from him. He looks at her like she's a princess, like she needs to be protected from everything harmful, but like he knows how strong she is, he looks at her like she's everything good in the world. I was thinking about if I've ever looked at anyone like that or if anyone had ever looked at me like that and I kept trying to think of a boyfriend but my mind kept circling back to one person. You. I've known how much I love you for awhile now, learned to dim the love in my eyes just enough to continue my facade of just being your friend. And maybe it's because it 3:30 in the morning and maybe you'll hate me and I'll regret this bit I swear earlier tonight I saw love in your eyes and when I see how they look at each other, I swear that's how you look at me. I love you Karlie Kloss, a lot more than someone loves a friend."
Karlie paused for a moment, shocked at the confession, trying to wrap her head around the fact that Taylor loved her back.
"Taylor I'm not quite as good with words as you so I'm going to do my best here. Taylor when I look at the way those two look at each other I think about how I hope I don't look as in love with you as I am when I look at you because I love you so much more than anyone has ever loved anybody. And I think about how if I look that in love with you there's no way you don't know and I'm supposed to just be your friend so you can't know that I love you that much but you just said you love me. Which means a few things. First, I'm nowhere near as sneaky as I thought I was. Second, it's okay that I wasn't sneaky because you know I love you and you are still laying up against me, which is by the way, my favorite position to be in. Third it means that when I tell you that I love you and I do look at you like a princess because you are my princess and I do want to protect you and I know you're strong but I don't want you to have to be strong because I love you. Taylor Swift I love you. A lot more than anyone loves a friend."
The two girls just laid there, they had yet to move through the long confessions, just smiling into each other, not wanting to break the moment.
"I'm going to go to sleep because my eye are closing on their own but before I do you're going to kiss my forehead because I love when you do that and because I love you and I'm going to wake up and I'm going to kiss you good morning because now I can. Karlie Kloss, will you be my girlfriend?" Taylor asked, hoping she was right in assuming Karlie would say yes.
"Yes, yes of course I will. Now, go to sleep because I don't want my girlfriend to be tired for our first date tomorrow." Karlie kissed Taylor on the forehead, an act that felt so different this time than the previous times it had been done.
"Goodnight Karlie."
"Goodnight Taylor."
