Anㅈel II
"Hey. Hey." I poked the guy a couple times while crouching down at his fallen position.
What was I suppose to do now. I didn't hit him that hard did I?
The guy had moved a slight bit, and was rubbing the back of his head.
"Hey, I'm sorry about earlier? Are you okay?" I said quite surprised at my words realising he was still a stranger.
"Uh, yeah. I think I'm alright now."
There was an awkward silence. Then I thought of something to say that made him surprised. "Look, I don't know who you are, but you should get moving." I stood up pointing at the door.
"I'm Jimin, and I'm your guardian angel" he stood up reaching out his hand towards me.
I gave him a "you must be crazy" look at him.
"Sorry, is this some type of hidden camera or something?" I asked looking around to see if there was actually cameras I can spot. Surprisingly I caught none.
"I'm telling the truth. I'm a guardian angel. I was assigned to guide and protect you." He smiled looking at me with sincere eyes.
"So you have wings just like other angels?"
"Yep."
"Where are they?"
"They are hidden right now. Look, your parents wished the heavens for a guardian to look after you even when they are gone in this world, that's why I'm here now. Although, they didn't need to wish one since everyone already has a guardian angel beside them." He said very calmly.
"Also, I've been by your side ever since you were a baby. It's just you never see me like you do now, which is weird." He gave a weird look at me.
I realized the story that my parents told me that I was named after the heavens for some reason.
"How come you can see me?" Jimin asked and snapped out of my thoughts.
"I don't know, all of a sudden I saw you in my room while I opened the door." I curiously answered.
"Does that mean you were the one who always whispered things to me at school?" The sudden realization hitted me.
"Yeah, I guess." Jimin said embarrassingly.
"I thought I was haunted or something! I'm glad it was only my guardian angel." I suddenly felt comfortable talking to him all of a sudden.
There was a sudden knock at my door. I stood up, and began to panic. What will my mom say if she sees Jimin here?
The door opened and my mom walked in the room.
"Time to eat, Haneul. What's wrong with your face? Why do you look surprised?"
I looked back at Jimin.
"It will be fine, she won't see me."
I sighed in relief. Of course she couldn't see him, but me. "Nothing mom, I'll be down in a sec."
She turned around to walk back in the kitchen. Then I saw a young lady dressed in white clothing just like Jimin, following my mother back to the kitchen. The lady was glowing in golden shimmers that glowed in the sunlight in a bright afternoon.
"Did you see that?"
"What? Wait, you can see Mina?"
Jimin surprisingly looked at me.
"Yeah, is she a guardian angel too?"
"Yeah she follows your mother to guide and protect her."
I was so fascinated by angels ever since I was young that I never actually knew I'd meet mine.
"But how come you can see her? It's only rare for someone to actually see guardian angels, and only now at 16."
Jimin whipped out a golden book that had creative letters written largely on it saying: Angel's Dictionary.
"I think you are very special Haneul." He says and shows me a page where it described about if a person sees guardian angels, it means they held special powers, and might turn into a guardian angel someday.
I couldn't believe what I was all seeing and hearing. This was my first time I experienced all this. Finally, my 16th year won't be put into waste.
