9: Three Days Later
Your feet hit the tiles of the hall. Your breath is fast and shallow. Your breath is not as fast as your heart beat.
"[Name]!"
You run faster.
"[Name]!" Kageyama's voice is not far behind. "Come back and answer me!"
"No!" You scream.
"You can't run forever!" He yells back.
"Yes I can!"
Other students peer out of classroom windows. For the third day in a row. For three days you'd successfully avoided Kageyama and answering his confession. For three days both you and the setter had ran through halls, classrooms and around the school. You could skip leg day for a month if you wanted.
You ducked into a classroom, slamming the door behind you. Several bewildered students looked up, then resumed their former activities; after three days they were getting used to it.
Your eyes scan the classroom, cursing the school for not using table cloths on the desks. The lockers weren't big enough for you, or anyone, to fit and there wasn't a utility closet.
Well, screw it. You decide and race for an open window. Its only the second floor, after all.
You hear a bang on the door followed by a muffled curse.
You have a leg on the window sill, ready to launch yourself out the moment the door opens.
But then you feel several hands and arms and various limbs holding you down. "Just answer him already!" They chorus.
The door opens and you immediately snort. Kageyama's expression combined with the large red bump on his forehead tell you he ran into the door.
Your knees turn to jelly. You hear a sigh of relief as your peers pull you away from the window. Someone asks the setter if he's okay, to which he says yes unconvincingly.
"[Name]!" Someone says, "Take Kageyama to the infirmary! This is your fault anyway."
You scowl, "Do I have to?"
The class shouts back: "Yes!"

You end up not taking him to the infirmary. After all Kageyama knows where he's going, and he knows that you'll try to run away if given the opportunity. Therefore he drags you by the wrist to the infirmary. Ignoring the sour look on your face.
The pair the infirmary and you wrinkle your nose at the smell of antiseptic. You've never really liked it. You pry the setter's fingers from your wrist and find an ice pack to reduce the swelling - judging from the silence the nurse is not there; you're alone with Kageyama. You don't know whether your heart is thundering with fear or if its... Love? You shudder.
You give Kageyama the ice pack. He looks you in the eye, his gaze unwavering. You're the one to break eye contact.
"Are you going to answer me?"
"Do I have to?" In truth, you don't know what to say. You don't have any romantic feelings for him, but you can't deny that he's not a bad person. Maybe you wouldn't mind going out with him. Maybe.
"No," The setter sounds dejected, causing you to feel guilty. Regardless you still don't know how to answer. "But will you go on a date with me anyway?"

Half of the volleyball team had fallen to the floor and were currently rolling with laughter. The other half had tears in their eyes. All of them were gasping for breath. Even Tsukishima was laughing.
"Has he really been chasing her around school?" Someone chokes out between laughs, "For three days?"
"Yes! I've heard he even waited at her train station!" The second boy roars.
"But doesn't [Name] walk to school?"
