3: Unusual
It wasn't unusual for you to be at the volleyball gym; you and Kiyoko had been friends for years. You both lived in the same neighborhood, and you parents worked for the same company, so it was natural for you to have become friends.
What what was unusual was that you had been silent and staring at the court where the club were practicing. You hadn't said a word for the past half hour, and Kiyoko was starting to notice that you weren't blinking the healthy amount.
You blinked, your eyes had started burning. You'd been observing Kageyama since you arrived at the club, looking for anything unusual about him, the events by your locker bugging you. Although, somewhere along the line you started simply staring; you weren't even aware of it.
Daichi called for a water break and you half snapped out of your trance, blinking multiple times. Kiyoko had left to give out water bottles to the team, who were all outside the gym for the fresh air. Except Kageyama.
"Take a picture," his voice brought you back to planet earth, "it lasts longer."
"Pictures don't change colour," you state dully, "for example, your cheeks have gone from pink to beet red."
And then dark enough to put beets to shame.
You stood up, your heart pounding in your chest, "do you have a fever?" You ask, a hand on his forehead, "you're burning up."
