Moon and I
Looking into the cold and lonesome satellite - a core memory forms.
Serene twighlight. I am inspired by this windless night to stand in the middle of the road and watch the Moon glisten. She appeared so close, that if you tried - you could tare her away from the night sky.
My mind plucks invisible vocal strings. Like mother's lullaby, gentle and familiar, I feel the pull to fall into Morpheus's embrace. The hum of trafic remind me still - I am awake. Yet, I am paralyzed. Falling headfirst into the Moon. The plunge stirs me up a bit with a realization.
How much did I miss out on by staying at home? Evenings spent in the embrace of loneliness and boredom, that could have been shared with the Moon. The storyteller of past lives mirrors back secrets, prayers and screams going back to the origins of humanity.
Without looking away I sit down and start swaying on the swing in the park. Together with the stars I anticipate magic. The moon proclaims "Halt! Look around - Earth is a sight to behold!" I admit, I have not been appreciative enough. So the flow of universes gifts slow down. Feel like I have to fight more for what I long for.
I'm back from the fairytale, plunged into the vacuum of the gloomy school night. Grey cloth drapes over the sky, covering the moon. It's time to go home. The present moment gets obscured by the worries and hopes of tomorrow. At least, next night promises more company from my ever loyal friend.
