"I'll see you in two hours, sweetheart." Michael's mother smiles. She kisses his cheek gently and he lightly cringes. Her smile gets brighter and she shoves Michael's sweater covered arm, "Oh okay, okay. I'll go now."
Heat rises to Michael's cheeks. He doesn't hate his mother... he just doesn't like people in public knowing he's still living with his mother. Or that he's so close to his mother that she'd even still kiss him...
Michael quickly walks into the theatre with his popcorn and gummy bears in hands. He's the snacking type.
He makes sure to sit all the way in the back so he'll have a better chance of seeing the screen. Everything seems to be going fine... until he sees someone he knows.
Luke and Calum.
He doesn't hate them... no, they're good people. But something about Luke brings shivers to his spines. And he doesn't know if it's good or bad, Michael thinks.
"Where do we sit, nitwit?" Luke asks Calum. He looks around the room before his eyes land on a splotch of pink hair, "Over here kiwi!"
"My god stop calling me nitwit and kiwi!" Calum complains.
Luke stumbles over to the last row with Calum close behind. He sits next to Michael with a huge grin on his face, "Hi Michael!"
"H-Hi Luke..." Michael whispers, Calum frowning, "oh-- and Calum."
Calum smiles.
"So why'd you pick a replay of Saw three? You could've watched it at home or like, I don't know, you don't seem like a scary movie type of person." Luke shrugs. A lump forms in Michael's throat as he realizes this isn't the Peanuts Movie.
This is Saw three. A scary movie.
Michael squeals a little but choke it back, "S-Sorry. Um... scary movies are awesome. T-Theaters have better screens-- I guess?" Michael lies, hoping Luke will fall for it.
"So, would you mind coming over after the movie with me and Calum, then? We can play FIFA and then watch some movies. Scary movies."
Michael gulps back spit that's been rotting in his mouth, "S-Sure."
"Great! Just try not to piss yourself, the movies will be scary."
That's when Michael knows he's going to make a fool of himself. In front of Calum... and Luke.
