23. Mint.

I decided being the first one to wake up wasn't a fun thing to be doing.

I put down the towel that I had used to dry my hair with after my shower and walked over to Harrys peaceful body. He was still asleep and it was now nearing half ten, I had somehow awoken before him and decided to leave him to sleep whilst I had a quick shower and got dressed, however now that I had done all of that, I was bored and hungry, but Harry was still sleeping.

"Oh, Harry," I whispered poking him him in his side. "Harry, rise and shine," I whispered louder as I poked him on his cheek a few times, I also tweaked his nose. His eyes fluttered and I just managed to catch them being rolled in annoyance before he turned over and buried his face into my pillow muttering under his breath.

"Piss off."

Well.

"Titanium, please wake up." I said sweetly as I jabbed my finger into his muscly back making him flinch away from me with irritation clear in his movements, however he made no movement to get up. I huffed.

I frowned thinking over my options at what would be the best way to wake sleeping beauty before a thought popped to mind that had me smirking deviously.

I sneakily slid my hands under the comforter until I met his body, I quickly wriggled my fingers in his sides causing him to jerk up and take my wrists hostage within the span of his large hands. He held them away from his body with a disgruntled look that made me giggle.

"Has anyone told you how annoying you are?" He commented, his voice making my stomach flutter from the gravelly tone of it as he rolled his eyes setting my wrists on the bed before he stretched his limbs and climbed out of the bed wearing boxers and a T-shirt only. I gulped eying his lean legs as he stalked over to the closet where all of our clothes lived for the time being.

"No."

"I find that difficult to believe."

I scoffed quietly.

"I took a shower, by the way. You. . . . you don't mind right?" I asked uneasily, my shyness weaving into my words as I fiddled with my fingers nervously.

"Don't be silly. And I was wondering why you smelt like me," He said with a smirk dancing across his pink lips as he pulled out a pair of skinny jeans and a patterned shirt. I giggled at his words which were true; I did smell like him because I used his manly smelling shower Jel and shampoo.

"Well, once you have a shower, you'll smell like me," I replied enthusiastically. He chuckled to himself as he grabbed a towel and slung it over his shoulder.

"How will anyone tell us apart," He said in mock horror as he stalked leisurely into the bathroom making me laugh as he shut the door behind him.

-

We walked down the corridor towards the dining room where apparently breakfast was being served, my hand clutched tightly in his-- however I didn't mind, I felt quite nervous about the whole ordeal. Harry had told me that everyone present at the house gathered to eat breakfast, the only meal they actually ate together, this of course stirred my zoo of butterflies to flutter around with nervousness clear within them. I didn't know anyone apart from Harry, Perrie, Zayn, and as of yesterday Ash. That was hardly a lot of people and I had no idea what the other heroes opinion of me was, I mean, I didn't necessarily care all that much about what they thought, however I didn't want anyone hating me.

Being Harry's soulmate that could cause a few problems.

The closer we got the more pronounced the smell of different breakfast foods cooking got, it made me slightly giddy as I was actually really hungry since all I had eaten yesterday had been that veggie soup which was filling then, but over the span of the night I had gotten hungry again. I hummed quietly to myself as Harry pushed open a door and lead me inside, the view cutting my cheerful humming off abruptly.

The occupants of the room clearly had the same sort of feelings as the bubbles of conversation immediately halted upon our arrival into the room. Wether that was due to Harry's presence or mine, I wasn't sure but it didn't help to ease my butterflies in the least.

I gulped as Harry gave me a comforting squeeze obviously having felt my onslaught of dread and nerves upon entering the dining room. He led us over to the large table, long legs striding confidently not an ounce of care for the numerous people pinning us with their gazes. Wether the gazes were positively influenced or negatively it was hard to make out and I was far too afraid to try and meet anyone's eyes to attempt to figure out their feelings. He pulled out my chair for me before pulling out his own, the unusually nice action catching me slightly off guard as being a gentleman wasn't really Harry's forte.

"Help yourself," He muttered into my ear as he nodded his head towards the different platters of all sorts of breakfast foods laid out, however I felt severely awkward and uncomfortable as I could feel the other Heroes analytic gazes scanning me head to toe. I shifted uncomfortably flitting my gaze up briefly to see if anyone was avidly watching me-- to my relief there was only a tense silence and occasional glances thrown towards me but no one was full on watching me.

I took a deep breath and reached over to things closest to me, not daring to ask anyone to possible pass me anything and draw unwanted attention towards myself.

I had two hash browns, a sunny-side-up egg, and a small piece of salty bacon. Although I did see some waffles quite a distance away, I ignored them not even allowing myself to consider asking anyone.

I also drank some coffee which was freshly brewed.
Once every one everyone had just about finished their food and were sipping their juice or warm drink, Harry grasped everyone's attention.

"Listen up." He said loudly, the small murmurs of already lacking conversation drying to silence awfully quickly as everyone diverted their attention to Harry. "We still have no idea who that fucker was who broke in. Someone could be potentially plotting something barbaric and in order to efficiently stop them we need to plan beforehand, we always need to remain on step ahead and we can't fucking do shit if we don't even know who it was." He said, his hand slapping the table at the be of his words in what I worked out as frustration.

"Well, I've got a. . uh, theory. ." A nervous voice spoke up, on the opposite side of the table a few seats away. He had a nervous look drawn across his face as it tinted the slightest red as the whole table shifted their attention to him, he had blonde hair in a quiff and I could feel a certain dampened twang on his words.

"Go on." Harry spoke also gazing at him in curiosity.

He cleared his throat tugging at his collar slightly. It almost made me giggle at how nervous he looked, it was pretty cute.

"Well, uh, I mean, I'm thinking. . Liam was on duty that night, right, and he would have sensed if their was someone. .supernatural around. He wouldn't have missed it, so. . Uh, I'm thinking. . What if the person who broke in wasn't supernatural. .?" He trailed off, voice filled with uncertainty as he quietened down towards the end of the sentence.

Someone scoffed before I had a chance to process his words in my mind.

"What? You think a regular person would have the balls to break in here, knowing that we could smash him to smithereens! I don't think so, Horan." Another male voice along the table scoffed in clear mockery of the Irish lads theory, I found myself getting irked at the harsh way he had shut the poor guy down who now looked even more shy and uncomfortable. I frowned.

"Hang on, he has a point. The only possible way someone could break in would be if they went undetected, being ordinary is the perfect weapon to use." Zayn piped up, his voice more lively as he gained confidence in the theory, everyone seemed to be getting excited the closer they got to a possible conclusion and a possible lead.

"You're being ridiculous, why would some shit head want to take those files anyway?"  The same horrible man from earlier shut down Zayn's thought process pretty easily as well. I decided that I did not like this man.

Everyone went silent for a few seconds and I wondered if this was where they were going to get stuck on their theory-- until Harry spoke up again.
"Well, what if, they're working for someone, someone big." Harry proposed to the table full of Heroes, plus me. Although I didn't really have much of a part in this conversation I didn't mind just sitting back and listening in, it felt comforting that they were getting closer to finding and stopping whoever was planning something terrible.

A few beats of silence passed before Perrie clicked her fingers as if she'd found an answer to a exceptionally hard puzzle.

"Louis Tomlinson. Creative genius, has to be him." She said, confidence seeping into her words as she displayed them to the table making me wish I had that much confidence in myself and my thoughts.

Zayn grinned, winking at Perrie proudly of the conclusion she had come to. It was really sweet.

My thoughts ran for miles as I wondered who Louis Tomlinson could possibly be, I mean I'm guessing he's a villain by the way they're speaking about him but he definitely seems like a clever one, one that knows what he's doing, and that scares me. He cleverly came up with the idea to send a regular person in so they could come in and out remaining undetected by the Hero on duty. Simple, but clever and smoothly executed.

I gulped really hoping he wasn't one of the people who wanted to take Harry down by eradicating my existence, he sounded good at his job and that's not someone I want after little old me.

Harry nodded confirming her suspicions and then re-directing his gaze to the shy blonde boy and Zayn.

"You two, I want you to shadow Tomlinson until you gather enough concrete evidence that he has got a regular human doing his dirty work. If he gets suspicious, you bail. And don't get yourselves killed." Harry commanded pointing at Zayn and shy boy. I shivered at the tone of voice he was using to command the heroes that worked here, it was a tone I wasn't familiar with having never really seen him in his working environment and one I didn't really want to see too often. It was intimidating and it made it look difficult to oppose to.

"On it, mate." Zayn stood up with an affirmative nod and a smug smile edging it's way onto his face as him and Harry shook hands firmly, if I wasn't mistaken Zayn looked exceptionally happy to be the one carrying this out as him and shy boy headed out, Zayn slapping him excitedly on the shoulder to which he flinched away from a bit. It made me wonder why Harry had chosen him to go and do this, he seemed shy and not much of a fighter, but who knows. I'm sure Harry has his reasons.

"Amelia," I was snatched out of my thoughts as Harry stood beside his tucked in chair while the dining room cleared out slowly as people began making their way to whatever they were going to occupy themselves with for the remaining day, he held his out to me and nodded his to the side indicating me to get up and join him on wherever he was going.

I clasped his hand in mine as he pulled me effortlessly to my feet where we then proceeded to walk hand in hand towards the door we came in from. The open display of affection making me flush a bit as I swung our hands a little, having to work my legs quite faster than average in order to keep up with Harry's fast and confidence strides.

*

I sighed heavily, the action causing a loose strand of hair to billow up before it fell limply in front of my eyes making my eyes prickle so I was forced to remove it and tuck it behind my ear.
I don't think I've wer been so bored in my entire life, we were in the large office where all the files were kept while Harry and that nasty dude from earlier rummaged around using chemicals and fingerprint marks to try and gather evidence so they could track down exactly who it was while I sat in a spin-y office chair in a lonely corner after Harry's strict warning to not touch anything.

Boredom.
Boredom.
Boredom.

In order to entertain myself I began spinning around on the chair, my foot kicking against the marble flooring in order to gain momentum bas a slow grin spilled across my face, giggles erupting from me the faster the chair spun and the more my hair flew around. I raised my arms slightly spinning around freely, it was quite scary the prospect of falling off one of these chairs nor a foreign or a pleasant feeling, however--

Crash.

A loud gasp escaped my lips as I immediately dragged my feet against the floor stopping my chair from turning as I turned to look at the scattered glass all across the floor, I gulped nervously realising my childish game had resulted in my arm accidentally knocking it off the shelf.

Damn,'I didn't think the shelf was that close.

I quickly hopped off the chair and immediately bent down to pick up the bigger pieces however before my fingertips could touch the shattered fragments another hand gripped my wrist and pulled me to my feet to be met with an annoyed looking Harry.

He raised my wrist between us where it was still clasped in his strong hold, a muscle jumping in his jaw as he stared from the shattered fragments of glass to my guilty face.

"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to." I abruptly gushed before I quickly rolled my lips together to prevent further idiotic remarks from slipping out. He rolled his eyes sighing heavily before he dropped my wrist from his grasp and shook his head exasperated, tattooed arms crossing over his broad chest making his biceps bulge.

"Fucking hell, Amelia." He growled angrily, eyebrows furrowed and jaw taut.

"Sorry," I murmured softly feeling guilt surge through me for distracting him from his duties which held a lot more importance than me and my childish behaviour. I peeked up at him through my lashes pleadingly.

He rolled his eyes glancing down at the mess I had unintentionally created before he shook his head and dropped his arms from their taut pose.

"I think Perrie's watching some shitty movie in the lounge, go join her." He commanded making me frown at his tone and attitude towards me. He was speaking to me like he spoke to everyone else earlier although usually he had reserved a gentler tone with me due to my intimidation of him I guess.

I sighed heavily my shoulders slumping before I turned around without a word and headed out of the large office and where he had told me to go.

Note:

Sorry I took awhile! I wanted this to carry on yet but I also wanted to post it :/

Harry's edge will start coming out soon, he isn't a soft guy and he isn't going to stay that way. ;)

Unedited.

Louis is a dad.
