"And Cut!" Mr. Worthy said.

I walked out of the studio and held my breath, "How was that?" I asked.

"Amazing Laura. You have a strong voice and beautiful piano playing skills. How would you liked to be signed to Big Machine Records?" Mr. Worthy asked.

"Yes! Oh my gosh! Thank you Mr. Worthy!" I screamed.

"Call me David." He smiled.

I nodded at him then looked over at Calum and hugged him. This was all because of him.

If he hadn't have followed us to the bus stop earlier today after the incident. I would've never gotten here.

Calum believed in me and that meant so much. He shared his big secret with me and Ness. He is the future air to Big Machine Records. His dad is just having him work at Hollywood Records incognito for learning and spying purposes.

He got me this audition and because of him, my dream is finally coming true. I can't believe this.

"Thanks Calum. So much." I told him.

"No problem... What they did wasn't fair, I had to do something. I couldn't let your talent go to waste." He said.

I smiled then looked over at Ness.

"Eeeeeeep!" We both screamed in unison.

We started jumping around like crazy animals and in the middle of it someone cleared their throat.

We stopped and it was Mr. Worthy, I mean David. (He's Calum's Dad :D)

"Laura this doesn't mean you're a star yet okay? You need to work on a few songs with my writers right away."

"Yes David." I said seriously, then remembered, "Oh! I have a few songs in my..." I froze.

"What?" They all said.

"My songbook!" I said. "Oh god I lost it!"

"Maybe you left it in my car when I gave you guys a ride here." Calum said.

"Or maybe you left it at the bus stop.." Ness said.

"Or worse.." I started, "Maybe I left it in the Hollywood Records building."

"We will look for it later okay? We will find it. Right now you have to focus on your job." Ness told me.

She was right.

I looked over at David. "Okay, I'm ready. Where are your writers?" I asked.

"Laura go find that book. We'll start tomorrow." David said.

I gave him a huge smile.

"Thank you!" I said hugging him, he was caught off guard and froze. "Sorry..." I said slowly pulling away.

I could of sworn I saw him hold in a smile.

I turned to Ness.

"Let's go." I told her.

"I'll come too." Calum said.

I nodded and we ran out to Calum's car.

Nothing.

We drove back to the bus stop and...

Nothing.

"Laura you don't have to go in there. I can go." Calum said. When we were outside the Hollywood Records building.

"Thank you but, you've already done so much and.. This is my book. I'll go get it."

I started walking then turned around saying, "Don't follow me."

I walked through the doors of the building nonchalantly.

There weren't many people there, so it was easy for me to sneak past the front desk. I then made my way towards the recording studio and stopped as I grabbed the door knob. I took a deep breath and then opened the door in a quick movement.

...

Thankfully no one was in there. I looked all over the place and nothing. Dang it!

I left the room and ran towards the bathroom were I cleaned the gunk of my face and clothes earlier.

Nothing.

A tear ran down my cheek. My book....gone...

I wiped my face and sprinted back outside.

Calum and Ness were outside sitting, but quickly got up once they saw me.

The hope in their eyes faded when they saw me empty handed, shaking my head.

"I'm sorry." They both said.

"It's okay... I can just.. Start a new one..."

"I'll keep an eye out and ask around for you tomorrow at work okay?" Calum said.

"Thanks." I half smiled.

"Okay... So let's go back to my car. I'll drive you guys home."

"You don't have to..." I started, looking at Ness.

"My pleasure." He said.

"Well... We um... You see..." I said shakily.

"We worked for the Lynchs so we lived in their house, and since we quit... We don't have a home anymore." Ness blurted.

I looked at her. Ugh! We look so unprofessional! I was so embarrassed.

"Oh." Calum said, walking to his car.

Ness and I looked at each other. Oh?

"Are you coming?" He looked back at us.

We climbed in the car and asked, "Where are you taking us?"

"My house." He said, simply.

"No! Calum. You've already done so much for us. For me. I can't take advantage of you like.." I started, and reached for the car door.

Calum started to drive the car. "Oops, now you can't get out." He said sarcastically and smiled.

"Ha ha ha." I said sarcastically and sat back, panicked. I guess were going to Calum's house...

The whole ride I looked out the window. Thinking..
