Chapter 16: All Too Well
~thanksgiving~
"Taylor! I don't want to wear it!" I yelled.
Taylor had bought me a silky black dress that's ankle length. Don't get me wrong, it's absolutely georgous! But I hate wearing dresses unless I have to. And today I shouldn't have to. I know it's thanksgiving, but still.
"I don't care Hayden! You need to look nice for the family! Please just wear it!" Taylor yelled.
I groaned and slipped on the dress. Taylor also had bought me black heals to go with it. I don't usually wear heals either. The last time I wore heals was at my parents funeral. But I don't want to go into detail there, but I kept falling. And these heals are bigger! I looked at the height on the heal and it says 6 inches! I know Taylor might Beable to do it but I can't! I don't understand how she performs in heals?! But it's Taylor what do I expect.
I walked downstairs.
"You look beautiful! But put on the heals!" Taylor said.
"How am I supposed to walk in these?!"
"Practice. "
I tried walking and almost fell. I grabbed onto the counter.
"I'm not doing heals. " I said.
I took them off.
"Hey!"
" I CANR WALK IN HEALS!!" I said boldly.
Taylor groaned.
The doorbell rang.
"Hi mom!" Taylor said when she opened the door.
Andrea, Scott, and Austin walked in.
After an hour, all the guests came. There's Taylor's parents and brother, Selena, karlie, cara, lorde, zendaya, Ed, and the rest of Taylor's friends. We sat at the table to eat when the doorbell rang again. Everybody looked at each other before I got up to get the door since nobody else moved. I opened the door and my jaw dropped.
"Happy thanksgiving!" Braxton said.
"Go away!" I yelled
"I thought you'd miss me?"
"I did! But you told me not to wait for you, so I didn't. "
"Wait, your already dating somebody new?!"
I nodded my head yes. That's not true. But I do have my eye on someone.
"Whatever. I can't believe I wasted a month on you!"
" your the one who told me not to wait! That's your fault!" I screamed.
Braxton turned and left.
Taylor came to the door.
"Honey, "
I turned around and cried the tears I knew all too well.
"I was thankful that he finally started leaving me alone. But I guess he hasn't."
"I'm sorry. Are you really dating somebody else?" Taylor asked.
"No. I just made that up so he would leave me alone. "
"What nuckle head decided to come and make my little niece cry?" Austin asked.
"B-Braxton. " I said.
Austin has met Braxton once before. He actually liked him.
"I'll take care of him for you. " Austin ran out of the apartment.
I sat back down at the table between Taylor and Selena. Selena gently hugged me.
After 15 minutes Austin came back.
"He will never hurt you again. " he whispered.
I softly smiled but now I'm just worried about what he did to Braxton. I do feel bad but I need to get over it. Braxton isn't any good for me. And why is he even here? He should be in Texas with his family right now.
After dinner, I ran up to my room and took the dress off to put on some sweat pants.
I've been through too much in the past few months! My parents dying, loosing a boy, he moved to Texas! I just stopped crying over him a few weeks ago and now here I am again, crying my eye balls out because he showed up. Why does he have to do this to me? I don't understand what I did to him.
"Hayden can I come in?" Austin asked through my closed door.
"Yes. " I said quietly.
"He's a real jerk coming here and wanting you back after he broke you like a promise. "
"Don't you think I know that?"
"Hayden, he won't ever come back here. "
"That's what he said the last time uncle Austin. "
" I made sure of it this time. "
"Uh huh. "
"Just call me if he comes back. Ok?"
"I guess. "
I sat up revealing my puffy eyes.
"I'm done with boys. " I said.
"Don't say that! Not all boys are jerks. Trust me, I know. "
I laughed. Austin hugged me and left my room. How does Austin always know how to make me smile? I love that about him. But I also hate it very much.
