Chapter 1
"Hello?"
"HERMIONE! HERMIONE? ARE YOU THERE? HERMIONE ANSWER–"
"RON SHUT UP SHE CAN HEAR YOU PERFECTLY FINE!" screamed a familiar voice.
"Oh–uh–sorry Hermione." Ron said in a sheepish tone. She could picture his ears turning bright red at that very moment.
"It's alright Ron, how are you?" She chuckled at his misuse of the telephone. Hermione knew Harry was close by to help his friend with the muggle object and added, "I can't wait to see you lot in September!"
There was a shuffle on the other side of the line, and it was her raven haired friend with glasses who spoke this time. "Woah woah woah September?! I can't be alone with Ron that much long–"
"Hey!"
"I'm only joking . . . but honestly Hermione, Mrs. Weasley said you can come any time you'd like. The sooner the better." Harry said, whispering the last part.
Hermione sighed. She knew perfectly well she had to situate her parents before leaving for the Burrow. "Alright, one moment."
Hermione strolled into the family room with her hand placed over the speaker of the phone to her parents who sat reading quietly.
"Mum. Dad." They were startled when Hermione entered the room, they had been so immersed within their books that they had barely noticed their daughter walk in. Her parent's eyes still held a moment of confusion from time to time but they'd recover seconds later with a smile. Hermione forced a smiled, still not comfortable with the fact that she had erased their memories over a year ago. "I was only wondering if maybe I could leave sooner to go to the Weasley's? You remember them, right? Molly and Arthur? They invited me to stay and take me to my school from there," she asked chewing on the inside of her cheek.
"The family with the red hair? The ones we met several weeks ago?" Asked her father.
"Yes," she replied.
Her parents looked at one another and shrugged. "Well I don't see why not," Mrs. Granger finally answered with a smile,"they were a lovely lot."
"Thank you Mum!" Hermione squealed, gifting her quick hug.
She strode back to the kitchen and put the phone against her ear, "Harry? Ron?"
"Can you come Hermione? Can you come?!" It was Ginny this time.
"Yes, Ginny, I can come. I'll see you after supper. Bye!" Hermione chuckled to herself and hung up.
"Hermione!" Her mother called.
She made her way back to her parents and sat nearly beside her father, "Yes?"
Mr. Granger marked his page and gave Hermione a pleased look. "Why don't pack your belongings and hurry back down in half an hour for supper with your mother and I, then you may leave."
Hermione grinned and squeezed his hand lightly. "Thank you. It's good to have you back." She whispered.
Mr. and Mrs. Granger looked up quizzically at their daughter as she took the stairs two at a time to her bedroom; not knowing that they hadn't seen her for a whole year until that month.

In her room, Hermione walked straight to her beaded bag which had been emptied days after Voldemort's defeat. With every magical item hidden in her bag, Hermione's Muggle parents would never remember that their daughter was a witch.
After the war, Harry and several Weasley's had accompanied Hermione to Australia to find her parents who lived under the name of Wendell and Monica Wilkins. Subsequently, after Stupefying the Granger's and traveling back to their real home in London, Hermione reversed her memory charm to the best of her abilities after rennervating her parents.
The the spell, it seemed, had only returned half of their memories. Hermione, as delicately as she could, had asked her parents multiple questions; she had gone from simple ones to intricate ones.
They remembered their present day routines, where they worked, who they worked for, their colleagues; her parents knew faintly of their younger years, their friends and neighbors, they even knew Hermione was their daughter. However, as Hermione continually questioned her mother and father, she came to realize that they knew almost nothing about her, including the fact that she was from a completely different world.
As she finished packing the last of her belongings, Hermione figured she was going to have to go to Diagon Alley to buy this years school books as well as some more ink and quills. She had missed her entire seventh year at Hogwarts so she was evidently out of supplies. Just as she double checked the beaded bag and scanned her room one last time, her father called her down to eat.
Hermione wandered into the kitchen and took a seat beside her mother at the table. After her father sat down, they loaded their plates with several savory dishes and talked of how extraordinary their summer had been. Hermione was finally glad to have her family back, even if they were a little broken.
