Chapter Thirty-One.
Alaynah's POV:
I lift my right arm to the point where I can see the hairs stick up and a trail of goosebumps.
A shiver shoots down my spine and through all my bones as a cool gust of wind gushes over me.
I stand still. I even stop shivering although it feels like two degrees. I don't move, I hear nothing except for the wild throb of my heart beat in my ears.
The wind stands still, I hear something faint in the distance. I can't quite make out the sound so I decide to get closer.
'Are you sure you want to be roaming around in the dark? Not to mention it's freezing!'
"Shut up head." I throw the words out.
I stumble down a slightly steep hill and fumble over a few pebbles. I hit the rocks where it levels out and I seem to be going up now.
I make my way up the hill, managing to get to the top without falling over I hear the noise again.
This time loud and clear.
A car. A few of them actually. I look to my left and then to my right, a main road!
It starts as a fast walk then breaks out into a full sprint. With every time my foot collides with the earth, I become closer to the bitumen.
When I finally reach it I fall to my knees, my hands feeling the surface for anything to grip onto.
After a few minutes of just sitting there I feel a shadow overlooking me so I raise my head and pick my eyes up to whomever is blocking out the moonlight.
All I see is a black figure, next thing I know something is raised in the air and came down on my like a ton of bricks.
I'm out cold.
