Chapter One.
"Mother!" I screamed, coughing on smoke. Burning wood falling in front of me every minute, I tripped over a piece of wood that had burnt out.
My arm landed on a sharp squared wood piece, I moaned and let tears slide down my cheeks.
"Get back up!" I scream at myself. Lifting myself up, I run towards the front door and bash through it landing on the ground outside.
I heard a blood curtling scream as I scrambled further away from the burning house. Another scream, but this one high pitched. That high it could burst your ear drum out of your mouth.
"Melinda! Heather!" My father yells. Mother's scream came from the right side of the house, whilst my father and Heather where on the left side. Tears streaming down my face, I didn't know what to do.
I couldn't go back in there, I would just get in the way.. Like I always do. I just have to sit here and wait, that's just what I did. I heard things smash and crash and bang but no sign of father, Heather or mother after two minutes. A cough rang in my ear, someone was almost out.
I picked myself up and sprinted into the scorching hell. Turning my head to the left and to the right I finally see a figure standing a couple of meters away.
I flung my arm around Heather's shoulder and tugged on her when I realised she had another body attachted to her. Father!
Father and I pulled Heather out of the house. After Heather and I had collapsed to the ground, father was running towards the house when the whole house just fell to the ground. Mother inside.
"NO!" Father fell to his knees, yelling. Tears pricked the corner of my eyes, my vision going blurry. I look over to Heather who's mouth had dropped and she was too shocked to cry or even look at me back. That's when the tears fell and I blacked out.
I gasped for air and grasped the bed sheets, straightening my back sitting upright. I blink again and again, rub my eyes and my door flung open.
"Are you okay?" Heather has worry written all over her face.
"Yeah.. Just another nightmare."
