I woke up when the sky became bright blue as a hummingbird. It appeared Alice was right beside me, drawing a picture. She saw me got up rubbing my eyes. "Hi Daddy! How was your nap?" She asked me. "I slept wonderful." I replied with a smile. I saw her drawing a picture. "What are you drawing?" I asked, "I'm drawing all of us." She said. "I want to see?" I said, grinning. She showed me the picture. It was Gloria and I sitting at the front row seeing Alice graduating. On the other side, it was Alice hugging Gloria and I at her wedding. I could vision already. I notice she was growing too fast and I'm graduating next year. Times flies quickly. When I go back to school for my last year, I'm going to feel unexpected in my graduation ceremony.
Next, I could already imagine Alice going to kindergarten by herself. She was always brave because I taught her so. I think I'll never forget how she was always brave.
I saw Gloria inside gazing at us by the window. "Daddy?" Alice said, tapping my arm. "Yes sweetheart?" I replied. "Would Bughuul ever try to let me hurt you and Mommy?" She asked. "No, he wouldn't. It's just that he instruct us to kill our families because, our family pretty much hurt us... and get the nightmares to stop mocking us. Does that answer your question?" She sat between my legs on the grass. She understood. "Good, I'm glad you did." I replied. "Did you have a family?" She wondered. "Yeah, I used to have a family. I was the youngest." I said softly. Her question had made me think back when I was alive.
"What was your life like?"
"With my family?"
"Yeah, what was your life like with them?"
I was silent and just had flashbacks that I wanted to cry. The pain they gave me. "It wasn't easy. They never had a lot of quality time with me because, they could care less about me. My parents (your grandparents) always cared about the church more than me and my sisters were always against me. So I was all the time I was in my room and read. I was always lonely and upset that I have a family who never loved me as a normal family should. Well, before, I met your godparents they were always there for me. I never made that much friends but them and Jorge because, they were my life. I always thought they were my own siblings. I always adore them even today." Alice was surprised that I am close friends with her godparents and her godmother's twin brother. "You really had tough life, huh? I am so sorry about that." She said. "No, it's fine, thank you." I replied.

After what Daddy said, I felt like bad for him. I may not understand much, now, but, I'll think about how he told me about his life was then. I am 4 years old and I always have to ask questions about people's lives. It irritates me because, it's not my business. "Alice, when you grow older, I just want you to always know that Mommy and I know what's best for you. You are our life and the only thing that matters to us. We just want you to be a good girl, and we don't want to see you suffering the pain that I have gone through. All we want you to do is to be strong for us. I'm sorry that I didn't tell you about my parents because, I'm scared that they are going to treat you like I was treated before. But, listen, you may be our only child for now, but, we had to make hard choices to be good parents. And we tried but, we are going to keep trying harder and harder just for you. We love you Alice, we don't want anything to happen to you." My Dad looked pale, I now understood.
My own parents loved very much and they know what is best for me. I could see Dad's parents and imagine how they would react that their son is a family man. Old enough to raise their granddaughter that they never met. "Would I meet your parents one day?" I asked. "I'm going to surprise them. Trust me, they don't realize how my eye color has changed." He winked. "What about your sisters?" I asked. "They won't realize that their brother is a lot different than before." He replied, smirking. After talking for a while, we played tag and hide-and-go-seek. Hide-and-go-seek is the game I usually play with Dylan almost everyday. Daddy picked me up and pretended I was a rocket ship, Mommy was staring at us making a smile. I waved at Mommy as she waved back, Daddy stick his tongue at her and she did the same. "I'll get you!" Dad shouted playfully. Mommy went outside and tackled him on the floor. "I got you now!" Mom shouted back. I was just standing there, Mom gazed at me. "Milo, I think we have somebody we need to catch." I started to run and they both chased me. I saw Mommy picking me up and Daddy running beside her. We later, went inside of the house and took a break. I'll forever remember Mom and Dad's words: You will always be important to us. We may know what's best for you, but, we love you every moment.
